Personally,
summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors in the
Midwest with the family.
Baseball
games, swimming and family outdoor parties are the very
best. Professionally, however, we are preparing for
autumn foliage time at Mayflower Tours. 40% of all of
our escorted tour business will depart in the months
of September and October, and the work for these departures
needs to be completed during the summer months.
Right
after the 4th of July, reservations on autumn departures
reach a crescendo as the calls and correspondences stream
into the office.
This
demand for Autumn Tours is interesting. I believe that
our travelers love traveling during this time because
the kids are back in school, summer family time is over
and everyone knows the weather will be getting worse
right after this season.
The
autumn products that are chosen by our travelers seem
to follow a pattern.
Travelers who live on the West Coast want to travel
to the East Coast and New England, Nova Scotia, and
Mackinac Island and The Grand Hotel.
Travelers
who live on the East Coast want to travel to the West
Coast on our Pacific Coast Journey, Colorado’s
Historic Trains and any of the National Parks. This
autumn seems to be a year to stay closer to home and
experience North America as opposed to a foreign destination.
Autumn
is a remarkable time to travel and with a name like
Mayflower Tours, with whom else would you travel? So,
please contact your travelers who are “leaf-peepers”
and invite them on an escorted tour that departs in
the months of September and October.
Come
visit our Autumn
Showcase online, or request
a Mayflower Tours North America brochure. Autumn
is truly the best time to travel.
