In
working with groups....The Difference is in the
Details! |
I
have a friend who is a home-based agent and is
selling our Blue Danube River Cruise for this
October. This is the first time she is promoting
Mayflower and this agent got 16 of her friends
to travel with her on our cruise. |
It's
May, five months prior to departure and I wanted
to check the details as I am meeting with her
this morning and now is the time to begin bringing
everything together. Here are my talking points
thought through BEFORE we meet! |
• |
Thank her for the business! |
• |
Spellings
and full names that match their valid passports |
• |
Special
requests, especially regarding food and celebrations |
• |
Review cabin categories. Note: Mayflower
puts the traveler's cabin location
near to each other per category and assigns the
cabins upon deposit |
• |
Obtain
flight information. Group is very independent. Many
wrote their own air and it may be challenging to
get flight times - yet transfers are important |
• |
Discuss
the documents. Will she have a get-together to walk
her group through the details? Does she need assistance
from our office. This get-together is the best way
to stop any mistakes before they occur, as well
as get the group even more excited about traveling. |
• |
I
know she is getting questions now and I want her
to answer what we know and get back to her group
in short order on items that need to be answered. |
• |
And
of course, take very good care of our agent. She
and her husband are going as our guests as well
as being upgraded to be near her group |
| UNDERPROMISE
AND OVERDELIVER! |
| Met
with our agent partner and here is what was discussed |
• |
We
set up a timeline on upcoming important due dates |
• |
Flight
information |
• |
Special requests |
• |
Optional
information |
• |
Final
payment |
• |
Arrival
date of documents |
• |
Dinner
table assignments |
There
was a discussion, and questions were asked about
what was her role. She knows her travelers and
what their needs are. She is the conduit between
her travelers and Mayflower. We talked about the
expectations of the group. Basically, they want
to have fun and share their travel experience
together with ease. |
The
secret to successful selling of groups is communication.
Anything can be solved when you know about it and
work together. Mayflower is excited about this first-time
group on a Mayflower river cruise. |
