The history of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta dates back to 1972 when it was first organized by Sid Cutter, a local businessman and balloon enthusiast. The inaugural event saw just 13 balloons participating, but over the years it has grown exponentially, attracting hundreds of balloons from different parts of the world. Today, the fiesta boasts more than 500 hot air balloons, turning the sky into a mesmerizing canvas of colors and shapes. Floating peacefully over the picturesque landscape of Albuquerque and the Rio Grande is a magical experience that visitors cherish forever.
