Europe is opening to
US Travelers for Summer and Fall

As you may have heard in the news media or read on travel sites – Europe is opening for Summer and beyond travel.

Travelers from the US will be able to tour Europe without being quarantined on arrival. Most EU countries are requiring the US travelers to be vaccinated. There are some countries that will even allow non-vaccinated travelers from the US if they provide a negative PCR test on arrival.

Based on this information and consulting with our ground operators in Europe, Mayflower has decided to operate most of its European River Cruises and land tours starting in August 2021.

Here are our current requirements:

  • For All European River Cruises - all travelers will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days prior to date of travel and be able to show proof of the vaccination. No exceptions.
  • For all European Land Tours – Based on the countries you visit, either proof of vaccination or a negative PCR Test done no earlier than 48 hours from departure. Some countries like Greece, Iceland and Croatia are allowing a negative PCR Test in lieu of proof of vaccination. We can advise requirements for each land tour upon request. Please keep in mind that these requirements could change as you near your departure date and we expect all travelers to comply with them. This is for everyone’s safety.

Q.

Currently, the US requires all travelers entering or returning to the US to produce a negative Covid test result. How will we get this done and who will pay for it?

A.

Yes, the US requires all travelers returning home to present a negative PCR test result before boarding your flight. Mayflower will make arrangements for all travelers to get tested before their return flight home. If there is a cost associated with the testing, you will need to make the initial payment, however Mayflower will reimburse you up to $100 per person for the test after your return home. These conditions will be reviewed on a regular basis and any changes will be communicated to you.
