TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE

– OPTIONAL RONALD REAGAN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY EXCURSION –

The time for the Tournament of Roses Parade will be here soon. In order to secure space on the optional tour of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, please reserve now.

Perched atop a hill with sweeping views of the southland, the Reagan Library chronicles his storied career that spanned more than five decades of a man who inspired Americans to achieve more than they imagined.

This optional tour is $35 per person and includes motor coach transportation to the Library with a Mayflower representative on-board, audio tour, and admission fee to the Library and exhibits, such as:

  • Air Force One Pavilion - walk onboard the actual Air Force One aircraft, which flew seven presidents.
  • A full-size replica of the White House Oval office.

Special Exhibits included:

Christmas Around the World includes 26 exquisitely decorated trees representing the 26 countries that President Reagan visited while in office, as well as a White House Tree. Decorations encompass the bright and festive colors of the Caribbean, the crystals of the Nordic countries and the traditional decorations of England and Europe. Of particular note is the Vatican tree decorated entirely with white ornaments featuring a life-size white peacock that adorns the tree’s branches. The featured tree is an elegant reproduction of President and Mrs. Reagan’s White House tree complete with “Reagan Red” decorations and dozens of hand-blown glass ornaments.

Also on display will be a collection of beautiful hand-crafted Menorahs that were given to President Reagan while in the White House.

Egypt’s Lost Cities – Time may have eroded the memory of a civilization but not the mystery of what was. Long ago, two bustling cities in
ancient Egypt were known throughout the world as cultural centers of power, of wealth, of trade, and novel artistry. One day as the
Mediterranean sun beat down on the bay of Aboukir, the cities slipped into the sea without a whisper of wind, buried for centuries.

Other objects on display include precious gold coins and jewelry, bronze vessels, objects inscribed in the ancient Egyptian or Greek languages, and statues from the sunken and forgotten ancient cities of Thonis-Heracleion and Canopus. The artifacts will be seen alongside ancient Egyptian artifacts from museums in Cairo and Alexandria.

Please Note: The optional Ronald Reagan Presidential Library excursion takes place on the afternoon of day four of the tour (Jan 2). Please note that for those who choose to purchase this excursion, you will not be touring the J. Paul Getty Museum. From past experience we have learned there is not enough time to do both and get back in time for dinner.

Space is limited. To reserve space on this popular tour, please call now. Reservations for this optional excursion will end Monday, December 2nd.

Per Person Price $35
